Hurray mine just shipped today!

Just order my X61 today with the new Penryn processor off US Lenovo. I was about to go for the X61s but the Penryn won me over. I didn't want a CPU that will be outdate in a month. I wanted to wait to see what new models will be released in the summer, but I have a feeling that they will be in the $1500 range instead of $1000.

I got the following configuration for $1061.11 US:

I was hoping Lenovo would bring back the 20% ecoupon today but no such luck. It would have brought the price down to $1007. I didn't want to wait for the next sale I just ordered today, pray that the price will drop within 21 days after my ship date, and price match it.

That is insanely fast! They must have already had one preconfigured with your specifications (perhaps from someone who canceled). What was the estimated ship date?

I ordered a X61 on April 1st. It has 2.4 GHz, 160 GB 7200rpm harddrive, 2 GB RAM, and runs on Win XP. I selected standard shipping.

The estimated shipping date was April 25 and they just shipped today (April 10th). I checked UPS's tracking site and it said it's shipped from China today and is expected to deliver on April 11th. That's tomorrow!!! I think it's in Chinese time and probably will get here next week.

But is that true about the expected date? I have my doubt about the delivery date but I'll be very shocked if it can deliver within 2 days.

Believe it, brother. I got mine in 2 days after they shipped.

Perhaps so. I selected UPS standard shipping too and it got here on Friday morning on April 11th, just less than two days after it shipped.

Pretty good. Received today April 18th.

I selected UPS Ground but the packaged said it was UPS Express.

Just wanted to say that while I did not get an X series, I got an R series off the recent Lenovo sale last week and here are my stats:

Set to arrive May 12th

Bought for yourself? How much? Where from?

Ordered mine 16th of april,
payment cleared 25th of april,
item shipped 28th of april,
and arrived 15th of May.

Delay in delivery was due to international shipping and stupid customs over here (it arrived there 3 days after they sent it in the US)...

but...despite the delay....i'm happy with it

I ordered a X61T on May 22 but as of today--May 26--the expected shipping date shows Aug 14. What gives?

Regarding my previous post, Lenovo told me the 8-cell battery was back-ordered and delaying the entire order. Surprisingly, I ordered the 8-cell battery as an accessory but Lenovo did not seperate the delayed accessory from the computer (with the standard battery) in scheduling.

After speaking with Lenovo, they have seperated the parts. I can see the revised order status showing my computer is now scheduled to ship on Jun 24. The battery accessory is still delayed until Aug.

I ordered mine on May 16th and received it on the 27th.
I could've gotten it earlier but for the Memorial Day weekend.
Removed Vista and installed Ubuntu. Working nicely for me now.

Nothing fancy, but just the way I wanted it:

Ordered 7/14 after the sales rep assured me that the x61 would get here on or before 7/25. I explained that I absolutely had to have the computer by 7/25 or else I would not be placing the order. He says he understands.

Estimated ship date 7/28. Contacted the sales rep about the date, he said not to worry.

It's now 7/22 and I'm officially worried. The sales rep won't reply to my emails and I contacted general sales support and they said the computer is set to ship 7/26. I asked about the 7/25 date and the sales rep's promise that caused me to place the order. In reply, I get a generic, "We can't guarantee ship dates."

Well, then your sales rep shouldn't do that.

So now I have to go buy or rent another computer to use for an exam next week and Lenovo won't give me any compensation whatsoever.

I've owned 4 thinkpads, but it looks like this x61 will be my last. I can't even get through to the general sales number 90% of the time. It rings for 30 secs and then I am disconnected. Needless to say, I'm not impressed with the way Lenovo is running things.

Finally got my X61 yesterday, almost a week after the sales rep guaranteed it would be here.

On the other hand, I ordered an X61s on 08-02 Sat. I took advantage of a 30% sale plus a 10% off stackable coupon from ecoupons. Total price, with tax, was around $1250. (There was also a 15% off coupon from ecoupons that came up right after the 10% one expired. Oh well.) My X61s shipped on 08-04 Mon, and I supposedly received it on 08-06 Wed.

I said "supposedly" because I'm currently out of the country; UPS says my X61s has been delivered and my neighbor signed off on the delivery from me. I'm actually not completely happy that I got it so early (never thought I would say that), because I won't be back in the US until 08-21 Thu. I thought my X61s would arrive closer to my return date. I assume that I can still return it within 30 days (from the delivery date?) if there is a problem.

On the other, other hand, I just ordered a new battery for my X60. Estimated ship date: 2008-11-10. Should have ordered the battery earlier this month, and the X61s later.

Ordered x61t on 8/15/2008, est ship date 8/29/2008.

I eagerly check the status everyday... multiple times. 'In process'.

I ordered on Aug 10th... I've heard absolutely nothing from them since then. Not even an estimated ship date (but I hear people in Canada don't get an ETA ship date)

You can't check the order status on their website? That's what I have been doing.

I've tried looking around and can't find a way to find the status of it & i'm in Canada.

If you have your customer number and order number, you can check here http://www.lenovoorders.com/orderstatus/index.cfm.

Doesn't work. my customer # is 10 digits & order number is 10 digits too. in the email it didn't say anything about tracking my order - just that i could call in for updates
