Intel or Thinkpad Wireless Card + WWAN Battery Life

#1 Post by mfratt » Fri Aug 11, 2006 2:05 pm

The X60s I ordered came with the Thinkpad Wireless Card. Is this better than the Intel 3915ABG? I could assume so, since the cheaper X60 had the Intel and the more expensive X60s has the Thinkpad card, but can anyone confirm this? What are the differences between the two cards?

Also, does anyone know what the Verizon EVDO WWAN does to battery life compared to normal WLAN? I intend to use that 60% of the time anyone (since the network at my school is slow and filtered to [censored])

Thanks
X60s 1704-69U (Core Duo 1.66LV, 1.5GB, 100GB 5400, 12.1" XGA, WWAN, 8 Cell, DVDRW in X6)
External Storage: 250GB + 500GB Porshce

T40 Project: (Planned) P-M 2GHz, 2GB, 100GB, DVDRW

Actually, if you buy the card seperately the Thinkpad card is $20 cheaper than the Intel card in the U.S. This was back in May when I ordered...I wasn't sure which to get and the models were an identical price, the only difference being the wireless card. So I got the one with the more expensive card (Intel) and I figured I could buy the and install the cheaper card (Thinkpad) if I was unhappy.
