question: does it make sense to buy 2gb of ram for a x60s? would i gain advantage of them instead of buying just the 1gb as addition to the 512mb which is build in? i've just ordered my x60s and thinking of getting me 1 or 2 gb ram because 512mb is like notthing. i know from my powerbook that the boost up to 1gb or 1.5gb was like a miracle...:) so folks i need you're advice... the memory costs like 100$ per 1gb ddr2 ram

mine has 2 GB and it is FAST. i got a system with 1GB and they had a sale of $99 to install the 2nd GB. worth it to me.

I just picked up a 1 gig chip from Newegg and it works great in my X60s.

RAM for notebooks is pretty cheap up to 2GB...really no reason not to do it.

I assume you plan to buy 2 modules with 1 GB RAM each. Here is what I would do: buy 1 module so that you have a total of 1.5 GB RAM, including the 512 MB that came with the computer. Work with that configuration and monitor how much of the RAM is actually used. If you feel that another 512 MB would make a difference, buy the second 1 GB RAM module.
