Aftermarket WWAN?

#1 Post by rkuo » Tue Aug 22, 2006 11:48 am

Is it possible to add integrated WWAN to an X60 or X60s? The only models on the Lenovo page with the option are starting at 2399...and you can't configure the TopSeller models with integrated WWAN, only a PC Card addon.

I wouldnt think so. To my knowledge, the models without WWAN do not even have the antenna, which means, saving a diy hack (and thus voiding your warranty), you can not add an internal wwan aftermarket. That being said, im sure that if you called lenovo, you could buy the parts oem (probably close to $300 for everything though). I got my X60s with wwan for $1799 via the back to school sale. You can still get them for sub-$2000 on ebay.
