Is the DVD drive in Ultrabase removable?

About the Ultrabase, I bought it with DVD/CD-RW drive as part of the back to school sale (because I have to), but I don't really need it. Most softwares are distributed over the internet nowadays, and even if not, I will image/archive the software on my desktop's giant 1 terabyte hard drive, a CD drive on this laptop is virtually useless for me.

I am thinking about removing the CD drive from the Ultrabase, and selling them separately on eBay. I haven't figured out if the DVD drive can be removed yet, I am hoping some of you can educate me on that.

ps:
I just received my X60, after nearly 1 month of waiting, and 2 weeks of going through law school without a notebook to take notes. My giant HP Pavillion just won't cut it for note taking due to its heavyweight champion status and ultra loud fan noise.
My X60 has been working great, although Monday I will bring it to school for the first time!! So far so good. Only complaint is that, the hard drive is noisy, and the Ctrl key is placed in a very confusing location of the keyboard.

Yes it is removable. You can also replace it with a 2nd hdd bay, battery, or blank filler piece.

right next to the drive, there is a little slider, if I slide it toward the back, a small piece of plastic will pop out. What is this for, is it for the removal of the optical drive?
I will probably sell both the docking station and the optical drive, I figure they will get me anywhere from $150-$200.

You pull that plastic thing outward and the drive releases. Its been that waw since the 20 Series, maybe even earlier.
