IBM Cover coating?

hey, I dont have a cover for my computer and would rather not get one, is there an alternative such as a skin? because the corners of the top are being worn out to the plastic. I hope the coating is just for cosmetic reasons.

The only way to prevent these scuffs is to be careful and avoid knocking your computer around. Otherwise, you could always try saran wrap...
