F11 without Factory Image

I got a set of 8 Recovery CDs for my X60s and reckoned now I could delete the Factory Partition to free up some 5GB of space.
However, after the deletion I was too sorry and too late to realize that Rescue and Recovery depended on the Factory partition not just for restoring system to its factory state, but also for running at F11 on boot and for creating recovery media.
Now to perform the former I have to boot from a recovery CD and for creating recovery media I have to use someone else's computer.
Question -- is there any way to enable F11 function and R&R self-sufficiency WITHOUT having to recreate the Factory partition?
Many thanks for your help.
