Hi, my name is Rani, i'm a mother of one toddler from Singapore. I just got my x60s from the shop yesterday, it is really cool and lightweight. I fell in love instantly. I hope i can learn about this cool gadget from other members in this forum.

I try to set up connection profile using thinkvantage connect .. but it couldn't discover any wireless network. But when I tried to connect using windows wireless, it worked. I tried disabling the windows wireless, but the thinkvantage still couldn't discover any wireless network. What could be the problem?

Lastly, I intend to sell my 4 cell battery that come as a bundle with my laptop because i want to change to 8 cell battery. Is anyone interested? If so, i will put it up in ebay (or in the marketplace here). It's practically brand new, I just charged it twice.

When i first started using my X60, the 1st thing i do is disable my most hated utility: thinkvantage connection. I just relied on Microsoft windows wireless utility to get connected to the wireless signals around.

^^This is what i do on all my thinkpads.

As for the battery, my X60 is an 8 cell pack which can last up to 7 hours a day with wireless on, medium brightness, fan running at full speed and 1 USB mouse and 1 external HDD plugged in.

I have tried playing games on my X60 and the battery power can last up to 5-6hours. Surfing the net: 6+ hours.

Welcome to thinkpads forum

Hi, Singapore X60 user here too B-).....I have a solution to that wireless radio problem. Hope it is the same problem I have.

The ThinkAdvantage or what is known as Access Connections is a useful tool for me. It automatically switch to the correct printer in my office, run the outlook while I grab a cup of coffee (after i turn on the X60 that is). At home, it switch to my other network connections.

Most important of all, it saves in a profile the security key of my office and home wireless. Window version couldn't. Saved my nect a few times
