Out of curiosity, I checked my hardware profile. I found a yellow mark beside the communication port (com1). Software installer does not find any driver for it. What could that be?

You could try uninstalling COM1 (from Device Manager), then reboot and see if Windows installs it correctly this time. You might have other devices using the resources that COM1 needs.
