Is the "normal" X60s supply dwindling???

Hey all -
I've been monitoring the X60s prices and configs on the Lenovo website for a couple months now, trying to find out the best time to buy...but recently I have noticed the following:

- X60s machines appear to only be available with the UL (UltraLight) screen without WWAN, or with the regular screen with WWAN
- Prices are higher than they were about a month ago, even they they are on "sale"

Could this be that the inventory is dwindling to make room for a newer X60s (possibly with a higher resolution screen like the X60 tablet) or an X61s with the low voltage Core2Duo chip?

Prices are higher, as they always are this time of year, because it's by far the busiest time for thinkpad sales - both consumer and especially corporate sales (the bread and butter for thinkpads)

heck even ram prices are higher now than a while ago.

this is, simply put, the very worst time of year to buy a thinkpad!

UL screens are in limited config as it is; frankly we're lucky to have them, they were mainly introduced for the Asian-Pacific market.

Overall I wouldn't take most of the web availability quirks you notice as a sign of any impending change, it is most likely just a transition in the web ordering system which prevents you from getting something a certain way. In this case however, I do believe it is truly related to the lack of a configuration - to make sure you can call the 1-800-# and try to order a machine that way!
