X60s heating

Greetings. My relatively new X60s seems to get a bit hot on the right side (where the IBM logo is). The heat is not unbearable, but somewhat annoying. This also happens when the laptop is on a straight and firm surface, such as a table. Is this normal?

This is completely normal. I think one of the bridges (north or south) is near the location, the wireless card is below it, and the harddrive is on the same side (but closer to the LCD). I've found that if I: start up with wireless off, run the harddrive less (or even let it spin down), and do less processor-intensive tasks...the right palm rest stays cooler. I think charging the battery while the computer is running will also increase the temperature of the area.
Anyhow, I'm sorry to say it's known and normal.

I am using an X60s and an X22 right next to each other, and the X22's palm rest is infinitely cooler than that of the X60s. I can feel the heat even if my hands are one inch above the X60s palm rest. I just turned off the wireless radio to see if it will get better.
UPDATE: Turning the wireless off seems to have reduced the heat a little bit.

I find the wireless radio keeps generating heat if it was on when windows starts but if it is initially off at boot-up it will remain cooler.
