World of Warcraft on the X60/s?

I was wondering if anyone have tried running WoW on their X60. Is it possible? How many frames per second?

Yes it works... it lags a bit when on minimum battery power but I do always play Wow on my X60.
It's fine... it won't do 40fps of course and sometimes (like IF in front of the bank) more like 7-8 fps but usually 20-30 fps.
Perfectly usable IMO !

Does the X60 get hot when running WoW? And what graphics settings are you running?

I was also wondering the same thing... on a similar note, does World of Warcraft require an optical drive?

Sure it doesn't stay cold and sure enough the fan goes up.
It just feels a bit too warm to stay on my lap if my trousers aren't that much thick and playing in 'max performance' settings.
Also, to be sure performance isn't too bas I deactivated a couple graphical options like anistropic filtering, special effect when dead etc... and I tend to limit other options to middle setting. Otherwise it tends to be slow.
All this at 1024 resolution of course. It is more or less playable at 1280 on an external screen but only with every option at minimum setting... not very nice but heh...

You can play WoW without the CD. If you don't have a USB cd-drive, you can download the full client on the Internet. I think it is 2GB with the latest patch, although I'm not sure.

try 5 gigs. i sugest going to wowwiki.com/org (can't remember) and downloading the client from one of the servers becasue's blizzard is slow.
Wow runs just fine on my friends 900mhz duron w/ 768mb ram.

/agree
Blizz's DL system is horrific. Even the last wee little mini-patch (4 megs) took me half an hour+ via cable.

Tried it out on my own X60s. With most things on high, the game runs fairly well, only in cities is the frame rate low.
Graphical quality is also surprisingly good in WoW for an integrated card.

I have only a problem, not limited to WOW: when connected to an external monitor, it will display lines moving on the screen if CPU is at full speed an 100% CPU time. VERY annoying.
Nothing on the built-in screen.
