Cool "Custom Restore" on T60 --> X60s too?

X60/X61 series specific matters only.

Cool "Custom Restore" on T60 --> X60s too?

#1 Post by jamess » Sun Jan 14, 2007 1:36 pm

I accidentally came across this thread --LINK-- which is super cool... in case it works on X60s as well. Does anyone have experience with this?
I'd guess that it's R&R dependant feature and since R&R is the same on all thinkpads, it should work nicely on X60s as well.

Thanks for your comments.

cheers,
anze

I have successfully done it on a new X60 tablet. I think any T-series or X-series machine that has been originally shipped with R&R version 3 has this option. Those that shipped when R&R 2.x was still current wouldn't have it.

Hmm, how would i know which R&R was originally installed on my machine when it shipped? :) I bought it on 12th Sept., but was already "in stock" at local Lenovo retailer... Thanks!

Simple. Unless you have updated your R&R, boot the system, go into R&R and you will find the version information in there.

You can pretend you want to do an advanced restore and see what options there are. Perfectly safe up until the second last prompt. :)

Thanks for info. Unfortunately I HAVE auto.updates and most probably, RR has been updated too.

Will rather go to restore and see under "advanced restore".

Cheers
