You only benefit from virtualization when running multiple operating-systems at the same time with software like VMWare. If you don't you have no need for it at all.

the 2.06 bios is also Vista compatible. so if you are upgrade to windows vista, i guess you should upgrade to this new firmware.

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mo ... uj15uc.txt

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-63145

<2.06>
- (New) Support of Microsoft Windows Vista. (BIOS)
- (New) Support of Intel(R) Virtulization Technology.
A new Intel(R) Virtulization Technology option is added to
CPU of Config menu in BIOS Setup Utility.
Config->CPU->Intel(R) Virtulization Technology
The Intel(R) Virtulization Technology option is always set to
"disabled" after the BIOS was updated or flashed. The option
needs to be set "enabled" if necessary after BIOS
update/flash. (BIOS)
- (Fix) POST error 1804 may appear at system power on with some types
of USB devices. (BIOS)
- (Fix) When EMM386.EXE is used at system boot from PC-DOS on a USB
memory key, the system may hang or the wrong data may be
accessed on the hard drive while reading or writing. (BIOS)

no. thinkpad x60's VT32 is not an advantage.
you won't use its benefit at all..

vmware with VT32 enabled will be slower than with disabled.

Why? What's the point of that option, then?
