How to disable active rotate feature on X60t?

#1 Post by lindycogito » Tue Feb 06, 2007 1:06 am

I may be blind, but I didn't find how to disable the active rotate feature on the X60 tablet (automatic change of screen orientation using the accelerometers). Several sites (e.g. [url=http://www.gottabemobile.com/TakingTheL ... ASpin.aspx this review]) say that it is possible, but without much details. I looked in the Tablet and Pen settings; in the Touch Panel settings; in the Display settings; in the Intel Graphics settings; in the Active Protection settings; etc. with no luck.

The annoyance of the active rotate feature is that it is too sensitive while I am taking notes on my laps; it would rotate it in landscape mode intermittently if I am not perfectly aligned... Reducing its sensitivity would be better than disabling it, but well, whatever it takes...

Any help?

Thanks!

Kinda funny, I think mine was disabled when I got mine, and I haven't been able to find the option to enable it

In the Tablet Shortcut Menu (accessible by pressing the "suitcase" button below the screen) there is an option for "settings" in the lower left. If you select that then you'll get a screen with some checkboxes related to Auto Screen Rotation. One allows you to disable the feature.

It should always be disabled from the start as Lenovo decided that it would confuse people and may not be properly calibrated for each machine if it was enabled by the preload so I can only assume someone else enabled it through the shortcut menu.

Well I have certainly not activated it myself since I have the computer, and I was not aware of the setting option in the tablet shortcut menu, so it looks like my machine as well had the active rotate enabled by default.
