Which external TFT to choose with X60t?

In a couple of weeks I will receive my X60t (Multitouch) and since I will use the device at the office too I want to use an external TFT.
At this moment I have the Dell 24" WFP with DVI input. I'm a bit concerned if the X60t is capable of running this resultion that crisp with only VGA. I think it might be better to choose a 20" (1600x1200) TFT with a good VGA input (and cable ;)

1) Can someone tell me which 20" TFT is the best with VGA input for the X60t?
2) Is there a difference in quality when you choose the docking VGA instead of the VGA directly from the X60t?

Thanks, Jan

I highly recommend getting an S-IPS panel. The trick is figuring out which ones are S-IPS since few manufacturers provide details on the panel type.

However, here is a very handy (if not quite complete) reference to panel types:

I personally use a Dell 2001FP with my X31's VGA output, and the image is highly satisfactory. 2001FPs are readily available on eBay etc., and are one good option at least.

Note that the newer 2007FP switched to a S-PVA panel -- unannounced, as is typical for Dell -- and it's difficult to tell what any given specimen is. While some S-PVA 2001FPs were made, they appear to be quite rare.

I suggest waiting and see how it performs on the 24" dell.

I have a 20.1" (1600x1200) samsung Syncmaster 204B. The image is fine and if you are not going to use it for anything other than basic office programs, then I can highly recommend it.
