Acronis and X60T
Acronis and X60T
I am using acronis 8.0 and when i start it with usb cd rom via acronis loader, it cannot recognize x60t hard drive. does it mean i need a newer version? So, people using acnonis 8.0, could you please confirm or disprove that version 8.0 works with x60t?
many thanks
(8.0 version works with my x41)

It is possible Acronis 8.0 does not have the newer SATA driver interface and you may have to load the driver somehow. I know this is true of the OEM version of Windows XP that I have, you have to load in the SATA driver. Perhaps you could ask on the Acronis forum.

Re: Acronis and X60T
I encounter the same thing when i upgraded the HD for my X60, you will only need to disconnect and reconnect the HD that is connected thru USB when acronis starts.oleshvets wrote:I am using acronis 8.0 and when i start it with usb cd rom via acronis loader, it cannot recognize x60t hard drive. does it mean i need a newer version? That way it will recognize it.

I had a problem that Acronis true image would not recognize a X60T hard drive, not the USB one that I am imaging to.... so you probably misunderstood me.cmarti wrote: you will only need to disconnect and reconnect the HD that is connected thru USB when acronis starts.

Anyway, here is an update. Upgrading to Acronis Home 10 solved the problem. But a small nagging issue remains.
There is a very nice and neat feature of Acronis Home 10 to make a regular flash drive a recovery disk! Wow, that is very nice thing for X60's.
The problem is that X60 bios does not want to boot from USB flash disk with Acronis. It does show it in the start-up sequence (after <F12> as USB HDD - Lexar media blah-blah-blah, but when it tries to boot from it, it says there are no valid OS'es or something to that effect. My desktop booted to Acronis with same Lexar flash drive no problem.
Anybody has any idea why this is the case?
Thanks a lot!
Re: Acronis and X60T
My bad, i use to clone the hard drive of my X60 Acronis 9.oleshvets wrote:I had a problem that Acronis true image would not recognize a X60T hard drive, not the USB one that I am imaging to.... so you probably misunderstood me.
