X60 tablet & extended battery mis-aligned

I've been using my X60 tablet for the last few weeks and loving it. Yesterday I tried the extended battery for the first time and noticed that it did not fit correctlly with the tablet. The battery has two indentations on the top where the rubber feet of the tablet are supposed to go and I noticed one of the sides (right) does not allign properly. Anyone have a similar problem?

I called IBM and they sent me another battery (in 1 day) and same problem. The battery seems to work fine but its visibly mis-aligned.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with similar configuration.

I have the x60table MODEL # 6365CT with the 12.1" MULTIVIEW+MULTITOUCHCD L2500 LV (1.83GHZ) screen. Running Vista Ultimate, 100GB HD 7200RPM; 1.5GB ram;

Get used to it! :roll:

Seriously... :wink: ...I have the same problem...

On one side Lenovo made it lockable...so the battery stays put...on the other it has a hook, but due to BAD design tolerances...the battery seems misaligned and woobles in and out...in particular in tablet mode when held...

I think better tolerances...or a lock on both sides would have solved the problem...

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping I didn't have a bad tablet! The misallignment is very noticible and makes the battery unusable for me. I think I'll return it and pickup another 8-cell.

I used to have a Motion tablet and it was nice how you could suspend the tablet for a few seconds and change batteries. Lenovo should design that feature and/or a small adapter to plug into the extended slot which would give someone a few seconds of juice to replace a battery.

I spoke with Lenovo today and it seems the extended battery is for the X60 and not the X60 Tablet. When I did a search on the Lenovo site for my machine type, it shows the x60 (non-tablet) extended battery as also working with the tablet (which is not the case).

Too bad they still had to charge me a 15% restocking fee.

At this point there is no extended battery for the x60 tablet. (per lenovo)

Interesting, I was under the assumption that the 8 cell batter was in fact the extended. But the extended battery is even larger than the 8 cell in reality? :?:
Thanks for your informative posts.

There are three batteries available for the X60t. The standard 4-cell, the high capacity 8-cell, and an extended life 4-cell that snaps on the bottom of the machine.
