3 monitors on X60S?

#1 Post by DesolataX » Sat Feb 17, 2007 11:19 pm

Just curious, but on an x60s with the ultrabase dock, since there are 2 VGA outputs, could I run two external monitors (extended, not mirrored)? Or does the base just split the VGA connection?

3 monitors on x60s - Matrox as a possible solution

#2 Post by laughingtonto » Sat Feb 17, 2007 11:53 pm

I'm sure someone else will give you the exact answer, but if you're simply looking for a 3 monitor solution for your x60s, you might check out the Matrix DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go solutions. Here's the link - look about 1/2 way down the page http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/corpo ... s/home.php

Does the video card on the X60 support resolutions high enough to use DualHead2Go?

Matrox lists the chipset as supported. Their website did list the specific resolutions supported by specific chipsets at one time...

You may also want to read one of the myriad reviews on this device. I don't have the link handy, but either tomshardware.com and / or PCMAG.com had them.

Yes i am pretty sure u should be able to do it cause in device manager the thinkpad is displaying a possible number of 3 external vga devices but i am not really sure; we need a guy who has the base to try this out. I am sure it works in theory but when put in practice there is probably some bugs when extending the desktop
