lcd splash upon touch ok?

Hi everyone,

I just recieved my x60t and love the machine. One minor issue, however. After I took quite a few notes on it yesterday (+- 15 pages), I noticed that the LCD is 'splashing' (is that the right word?) as I press a certain part of the screen with my hand or the pen. I'm afraid I might have warped the screen by pressing on it or that, by taking notes, I might be damaging it progressively.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is the LCD 'splash' normal? (I wouldn't think it be normal on a screen designed for this purpose... am I wrong?)

Thanks everyone,
ben

I don't have a tablet, but all LCD displays do that, i.e., the liquid part comes to into play (http://www.google.ca/search?q=define%3A ... =firefox-a).

Go to bestbuy or your favourite computer store and press the LCD displays on display (pardon the pun). You will see your finger impression. You can try this with your own monitors, but you will leave an oily finger print on it :)

So this is normal, and you probably won't cause any damage with regular use. Of course if you press really hard, you can break the screen, but that is not regular use.

Thanks for the reply atla.

Normally, on an ordinary notebook, I wouldn't be worried about it, as its an intrinsic feature of the LCD. But on a tablet, seeing as the screen is reinforced with a hard, durable plastic layer designed to withstand repeated pressing, I wondered if it should happen at all.

This is my first tablet, and I've only had it for a few days, so I'm still learning what's normal and what's not for the tablet-specific features. Thanks though!
