Redock X60 and D: Drive is missing??

Hello all...
New X60 will work great if booted in dock and CDRW is visible as D Drive.

If undocked for some time and the re-docked, the cdrw/dvd will not show as a D: drive! It will just show the C: & E: drives. No D: drive.
I have a USB maxtor 500gb as a E: drive and it will show but the D:\ drive will not??

If I insert CD Media, it will sometimes autorun and then show in the XP Explorer shell. Sometimes, media will not autorun and allow the drive to show after redocking...

So, is there something to change to allow this symptom to go away? Has anyone else seen this behavior on the X60??

H.

Hi, Hamster,

I don't have an X60, but my R52 sometimes fails to recognize either my optical drive or my external harddrive when it's docked. I just right click under "My Computer" and they show up.

Lamar

Ok... I can try this...

Mmmm... OK, I can try that. Does this refresh the explorer shell and they show up??
The r52 has a built in Hotswap space for the CD device. Not sure if this behavior will be the same.
Thx...
