I installed it today and saw no visible improvement.

* (Fix) "SATA Controller Mode Option" is changed to "Compatibility" when the system boots up without the primary Hard Drive. "SATA Controller Mode Option" is displayed in the BIOS Setup Utility. "Config"->"Serial ATA(SATA)"->"SATA Controller Mode Option" (BIOS)
* (Fix) The SMBIOS structure which represents Modem jack(RJ-11) is not displayed. (BIOS)
Sure you didn't! Only two minor fixes, concerning very specific situations. Definitely not an update anyone should install unless they encouter problems in those two specific areas.

Just a question here: When you hibernate without a battery in place, and then resume from hibernation with a battery in place, is power manager supposed to display that black plug icon to indicate you're running on AC/battery?

Mine does, even though I've got the latest BIOS (v2.07).

yes, it do.
in fact the black plug indicator has nothing to do with the BIOS updates but the Thinkpad Power Manager.

Hmm.. I see. I already have the latest version, and after resuming using a battery (when it was hibernated with AC), the CPU speed is stuck at max speed.

Toggling the different power management profiles does not bring it back down to slower speeds as what SpeedStep should do.

Is this an issue? Or should I start another thread to discuss about this?
