Anyone used the internal Dell Sprint card?

I bet it would work, the thing I'm worried about is integration with Access Connections. Is the WWAN card essentially just a modem Windows recognizes like DUN?

The WWAN card is seen by Windows as you describe. I would not worry about integration with Access Connecions since that integration is not worth much in a practical sense. Even the Verizon internal card uses the Verizon Access Manager to connect, not Access Connections, so there is nothing of interest for Access Connections to do.

You will likely get an 1802 error and a failure to boot with that card. There are a couple of hacks to get around the 1802 error, but they don't seem to always work (speaking generally here). No report yet on the Sprint/Dell card that I have seen. Use the Search button at the top of the page to find more information regarding the 1802 error.

EDIT: The 1802 error does not apply to ExpressCards or PC Cards that you slide into the slot on the side of your ThinkPad.

Perhaps one can tweak the Windows and/or Registry settings after they are created by the VZAcess Manager, which one needs to activate the card.

The default appears to be that the created Windows entries insist that VZAccess is required ... and I have had no need to experiment further trying to eliminate VZAccess. VZAccess Manager is perfect in that it does with just one click precisely what one expects of it, i.e., I would not want to eliminate it.
