X60 dual-boot OS: WinXP with Solaris 10

#1 Post by koayact » Sat Mar 10, 2007 8:28 pm

Just purchased Hitachi (HGST) Travelstar 5K160 - 160GB - (5,400rpm/8MB/Serial ATA) 2.5" HDD from IT SHOW 2007. And intend to dual-boot OS with the default WinXP & Solaris 10. Intended partitions are:
NTFS - 50GB
FAT32 - 50GB
Solaris - 60GB

I am downloading the free Solaris 10 for X86 bootable CDROM-images but unable to find anything specific-drivers for ThinkPad X60 hardware:
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/get.jsp

Has anyone managed to get the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network to run in Solaris 10? Or any specifics for the dual-core Intel T2400 1.83GHz? Or any specifics to mount FAT32-partition? Kindly share some references that you may have come across on this journey. :D
