Problem coming out of sleep mode

#1 Post by rhombeus » Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:11 am

I have a new X60 (1706HCU) running XP Professional, and am experiencing a strange problem where it won't come out of sleep mode. This occurs if , and only if, I am using a wired 100Base-T ethernet connection, in which case it occurs 100% of the time. When I try to bring it out of sleep I get the desktop but no icons, and the mouse still responds. It won't respond to alt-ctrl-del and the only way to recover is a hard reboot. I am running pretty much a factory setup - including the use of Access Connections and the fingerprint reader. This has me stumped. Any thoughts?

This has been reported before. I don't know if there is a solution or not at this time. I suggest checking for updates on Lenovo's site that may fix this.

Thanks for the info GomJabbar.. It seems there are a lot of posts on issues recovering from sleep mode, and each one has slightly different circumstances. I have been watching the availability of drivers closely but I don't see anything that I think may fix this. I already have the latest driver for the "Intel PRO/1000 PL Network Connection" - build 135400. I was considering updating the bios, but the list of changes for the latest bios doesn't lead me to believe that it would help. I hope I can come up with a fix for this sooner rather than later, as it is very frustrating. Any other thoughts anyone?

I couldn't reproduce the issue on my X60s running XP Pro, Intel Pro PL LAN driver build 131767 and bios 2.06.

I don't use Access Connections, however. While it's a shot in the dark, I would try uninstalling AC to see if it helps.
