Some help with respect to X60s

Hi all,
I live in Denmark and is about to buy a new, light, small laptop. I need a small laptop with good battery time since I travel a lot and my favorite after quite a lot of searching is the X60s. 8hrs on the battery at 1.6 kg approximately, combined with the strong chassis of the Lenovo is something I like.
But I have a few Q's you peeps might be able to help me with:
After reading a few posts here (and the very detail Lenovo pdf) I can understand that the 1702 and 1704 models are different in minor things, such as some have the UL-display and some are shipped with different WLAN/BT combos. Also, some minor weight differences. But is that all? For me, if it weighs 1.3, 1.6 or 1.9 kg doesn't really matter that much. I would love it to be as light as possible but I've had heavier laptops before and this has not been an issue. So, should I care if I get an 1702 or a 1704?
So, based on the combos I can find for sale cheap here in Denmark, I have found an 1702 with the 1.66GHz Core Duo and the 8-cell battery for a good price (approx. £ 1000) with VAT.
I can understand that the 945GM chipset and the PGA-arrangement in the laptops mobo enables med to swap to a Core 2 Duo cpu later. Any experience with this?
Any recommendations and comments much appreicated!
