Try to ask Lenovo/IBM for the recovery disks by giving them reasons that you cannot burn at all. Or post your request in the marketplace subforum. :-)

Lenovo will send me CDs in the same language I don't want in the first place, no other.

You go and download the X60s Hardware Manual from the IBM/Lenovo site and look for the X60s R&R disks which you want (the language) and copy down the FRU number and call lenovo and tell them to send you the disks with that FRU number.

I did that, and they will not ship any other set of disks than the one in the language the OS originally came in.

Ok, so what language do you want for that recovery disks? As i have mentioned previously, if IBM/Lenovo refused to give you that recovery disks which you want, then you can just get the recovery disks in that OS language and do a swapping here with someone from this forum.

I created the disks in the original OS language (German) from the recovery partition before wiping it. Of course, if anybody wants these, either in exchange or just like that, be my guest. I want the (US) English version.

you can find a Multi-Language pack for Windows XP and change the interface to any language that you like.

Also, you can create a clean XP CD out of your i386 folder. This is my favorite.
currently own X61S, T42, X31, Macbook Pro Unibody i5

Do you just burn the files to CD or do you have to do something special to make the CD bootable?
