I own an ad agency and have to work regularly with large Photoshop and freehand/corel files. File sizes usually as large as 300MB.
I have to say that I am very impressed with the x60's speed and reliability. I have upgraded from a P4, so I guess that was expected.
I use the tablet in a unique way. At work I have the tablet on my table in tablet mode with only one cable connecting it to a port replicator to which a monitor, a mouse, keyboard, DVD RW and 2 printers are attached. These are placed behind me, so that every time I need to use the external monitor and external keyboard+mouse, I just swirl my chair and viola, I have a desktop configuration.
Also in the display setting I have set it to dual display with the external monitor being the main display so that the task bar is on the external monitor. On the tablet screen, I have only Microsoft One Note.
This configuration is a dream come true. I have the tablet, always ready to accept inking on my table and on the side I have a desktop pc to do everything that a normal pc does.
I couldn't have expected anything more. My business partner is convinced too and he is getting an x60 too, only upgraded
I got the tablet for one reason only, I take down alot of notes over the phone from my clients and I keep misplacing them and then quoting them from memory, or looking for a piece of paper in a stack of similar papers. Waste of time.
Secondly, I go to work late, around 11am but I start getting calls from my clients as early as 9am. I was, just as much as my clients were, sick of making them wait till 11 just to send a quotation or a proposal via email. This problem could've been solved just as easily with a regular laptop, however, now that I have my notes with me also it has made my life so simple.
One real life example, I got a job done for a client, it was something that I had to outsource and I got the job through another agency. So out of the payment that I got, I had to pay the guy who actually did the job, figure out my commission and also pay 12% to the agency through which I got the business. I did all working on One note. I just learned that there is going to be a repeat order for the same job. Yesterday I got the Work order and will get the payment in another 15 days. Today I went through the one note section where all the working was automatically saved and all payments to be made are already worked out. Phew! What a relief.
Tablet PC and in particular X60t is highly recommeded, when I get a new notebook it will only be a tablet.
Thanks for reading and sorry if I've bored you with my long explanations.
Take Care
