X6 UltraBay HDD Adapter

Does anyone know if there is a max size for the Ultrabay HDD Adapter? No recommendations are provided in the User Guide. (I tried posting this in the general hardware section, but no bites.) General feedback for the UB HD adapter is appreciated as well.

I intend to use the Ultrabay HD adapter in the X6 docking station as a back-up HD... not necessarily running programs from it, just archiving.

Also, I currently have a CD/DVD burner in the UltraBay. If I remove this, can I use this external enclosure?

I've seen other external enclosures for ultra slim CD drives online as well, but I wasn't sure if the connection for the UB CD Drive is universal or if it is indeed proprietary. For instance, in the newegg one that I just posted, I visually can't see the innards of the enclosure
