hi there,

this post is for those of you who has the ThinkPad agbn WiFi cards. when i opened up my x60 (1907CTO) to check for myself if i had the second PCI Express slot, i too noticed that there are only two antennas connected to my agbn card - the third connector is empty.

i have since found the FRU for the MIMO anntenna, 93P4389, which is around £4 (GBP), however ibm are charging £15 for p&p! :?

has anyone tried fitting this on their agbn card?

perhaps more to the point, was my x60 supposed to come with?

i wouldnt normally be bothered as the reception is pretty good and i dont have any 802.11n networks around me, but since i'm planning to replace my keyboard to a UK one, i figured i might as well see if i needed any other parts while i'm at it.

thanks,
tian

Does your X60 have the external "bump" on the right side of the screen? Mine does, and I assumed that this was the third antenna for the ThinkPad agbn WiFi card. I don't have a WWAN card installed. From the parts list you've shown, it appears that the "bump" and the antenna wiring are one unit. I've never opened my X60 to look at the card slots. Now I'm wondering whether what I thought was an external antenna is actually connected to anything.

hi there,

here is a pic of my x60 (on top of a t60 and a r60 :-) ):

it looks like i'm missing a third antenna :-S i might give the UK support a call later on this week, though this may be troublesome as my x60 is from the US.

Yes, the third antenna is missing. I think Lenovo owes you one since you seem to be one of their best customers. :D

nope - they arnt all mine! (i'm just a poor uni student), they belong to my halls mates.

i've just sent them a "query", i'm hoping that they would send me the FRU by post so that i can fix it myself.
