Well, just got a Broacom 802.11n card (ex-Dell) from eBay. Got a 1802 error and Googled for it (where I found this board!!!).
Hasn't anyone developed a solution yet ? The DOS/Linux solutions all seem to be a few years old and don't do the X60
I've got it working by booting with the old card, suspending the system, swapping out the cards, un-suspending the system and doing a 'Find new hardware' as suggested by one site. What a hassle (to say the least).
What does the rest of you do for changing the wi-fi card?

Many thanks
Adrian

I have the same problem...
1802 : Unauthorized Network Card! sooooo annoying!
it just hangs and when i reboot the laptop, it gives me the error....

I'm sending the laptop back to IBM and hopefully the warranty will cover the wifi card gone bad....

cmarti - that's a solution for Atheros cards, mine's a Broadcom one.
