I got a x60 with xp home, I formated the C drive (leave hidden partition untouched) and installed xp professional. I installed rescue and recovery from backup of C:\SWTool after. Now when I power on the laptop and press the blue thinkvantage button when prompt, the rescue and recovery menu didn't show up but BIOS menu. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks in advance.

You need to replace the Windows XP MBR (Master Boot Record) with the IBM version. The repair you seek lies in running one or both of the following IBM utilities:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-54483
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62978
Good luck!
Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem, but stopped short of fixing this problem on my X60 because I don't own a floppy drive. I believe many of the 'update' or 'fixing' solutions like harddrive firmware updates need a floppy image.
Any solutin to that? like a virtual drive or etc.
Thank you
