How can I tell if I have Bluetooth
I just realized today while downloading and installing updates my computer thinks it doesn't have Bluetooth, but I paid $29 extra for it. How can I tell if I do?
I thought there is the Thinkvantage software panel, or a button that brings up radio communications and lets you toggle each radio transmitter on/off.
There should be software somewhere which will show the status of Bluetooth and where you can control its status. If it is clickable or shown in some way, you must have it.

OK I looked all over the BIOS, but just not deep enough. It was HIDDEN, and FYI it's not a serial port it's a network device (duh) for anyone else under that misconception. It still wouldn't show up after that until I enabled it with Fn F5 like you suggested. I didn't even know tha tkey combo was there. When I tried FN F5 earlier it didn't show the bluetooth. Thanks for the help.

I believe the thinkpads with bluetooth usually have an indicator light right below the screen with the bluetooth logo

Re: One Identifier
Yea the logo is there but it has never been lit. Turns out it was turned off in the BIOS. I had looked for it there before posting but didn't find it. I should have scrolled the networking screen. I thought Bluetooth was more like a wireless USB port, than a network. I was looking in the wrong place. Looking on the sales receipt there was no mention of Bluetooth so I got worried. All is well now. Thanks to everyone for the help.goldman60 wrote:I believe the thinkpads with bluetooth usually have an indicator light right below the screen with the bluetooth logo
