Ultraconnect II antenna

I'm all set to order an X61s, but don't know whether to get the Ultraconnect 2X2 or 2X3 antenna. I've read commenters in this forum say that the 2X3 is better, but I don't understand why they are the same price if the 2X3 is better. Is there any advantage to the 2X2? What does 2X2 and 2X3 even mean?

I'm guessing here, because I couldn't find any official definition, but I think you want 2x3 if you are going to use 802.11n MIMO i.e. it refers to the number of antennae. It also looks like if you choose WWAN, you are stuck with 2x2.

Maybe someone can enlighten us further?
