can the T42 hard drive be added to the X61 tablet?

can the T42 hard drive be added to the X61 tablet?

Are they the same size and compatible interface?

The T42 (and T43) uses an IDE disk; the X6x series uses a SATA disk. So, no.
X61t — Intel X25-M G2 160 GB SSD, 4.0 GiB RAM, Kubuntu GNU/Linux 10.10
T42p — 1.5 GiB RAM, Kubuntu GNU/Linux 8.04

not quite right,

you can in exchange for the optical drive in case you use a docking station, as many do. e.g. ide slice fru 62p4553
