Hi, If I order an X61 with a 100GB 7200 rpm HD AND 4 GB of RAM, will the TurboMemory feature really help me any? If I am not going to notice the difference in every day Office 2007 type computing, than I will go with the WWAN feature.
Thanks!

X61 4GB RAM need Turbo Memory?
Bob Atkinson
Bob, welcome to the forums!
I don't think you will see a significant difference given that you have 4 GB of memory already. The turbo memory option provides only 512 MB of ReadyBoost cach and 512 MB of ReadyDisk, and with the memory you are configuring, you will be in much less need of it. If you want ReadyBoost, you can always add a 2 GB+ CF or SD card afterwards.

Thanks for the welcome!
I currently have an X61 on order to replace a Motion LE1600. I upgraded my LE1600 to Vista Ultimate several months ago. I have turned off Prefetch and Readyboost to keep the HD from constantly running.
I am not familiar with ReadyDisc... could you explain?
Will Readyboost accomplish the same thing as TurboMemory?
My X61 does have 4GB RAM, a 7200 rpm HD and WWAN.
Thanks,
