X61s WWAN and CPU Question

Wondering if anyone knows.
I ordered a X61s today, want to know if I can install the EVDO separately as an upgrade. Will the x60s Verizon mini pci express MC5720 (sierra wireless) work in the X61s or do I need a different card. I am hoping I don't need that xconnect II antenna if the Evdo can be upgraded because I did not order it.
Also since the X61s s I ordered is a LV L2300, can the cpu be upgraded later to a faster CPU.

If your machine was not ordered with WWAN, then it will not have the two antennas for WWAN, and -- much more significantly -- it will be missing the Mini-PCI Express slot into which to mount the WWAN card. The machine will not accommodate the upgrade you have in mind. The processor is not socketed; it is soldered to the motherboard.

Was that the case for the X60s. I was told that there was a mini pci-e slot in the x60s to accomodate a WWAN or ABG card and the X60s did not have antennas.
Also when I ordered the X61s, you had an option of choosing what type of wirleless lan card you wanted, in the descriptions of the 3 types of cards available, two were mini pci and one was mini pci-e, so I believe the slots might be there for either since you have to choose. I chose the mini pci lan card so I am hoping the slot is available for the mini pci-e. I am told this was how the x60s too was designed.

The X60 and X61 are identical in this regard. The WLAN and WWAN cards are Mini-PCI Express, but there are not necessarily two such slots on the motherboard. All machines have at least one slot (presumably for the WLAN card), but only machines specified with WWAN have a socket soldered in the position of the second slot.
The antenna situation is the same for X60 and X60s, i.e., if no WWAN, then no WWAN antennas.

If you order the X61s with the Intel Turbomemory option you will have two mPCI slots for sure. You could replace the Intel chip with the WWAN chip. I just did the reverse on my x61s.
