X60s or X61s based Thinkpad reserve edition?

#1 Post by vkyr » Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:11 pm

I wonder if the so called Thinkpad Reserve Edition is based on a Thinkpad X60s or X61s model instead, since both are available with an UltraLight display? - However, it seems to be good equipped and will come along with somehow superior support as usual.

Further I wonder if it's given leather dress coloring might intensionally insist somehow historycal/traditional on the small IBM notepad here?

Well, let's see who is going to buy such a leather baby and what this luxury will finally cost.

They're custom made for the thinkpads they're intended for.

Your thinkpad can suffer from heating issues if proper vents aren't put at right places in these cases, leather material is another issue to discuss.

If you're looking for sleeves/carrying cases then search on ebay or similar online stores.

Just for the hell of it, I looked up the original leather case part number for the reserve edition. It sure would look great on my x61.

Try this.

According to IBM parts, the leather costs $1,363.52 which doesn't surprise me, the price is right for the special "Clad in hand-stitched, saddle-grade premium French leather" that smells and feels good too.

Well, I hope somebody is listening. I'd pay top dollar (not $1324 though) for a leather case. Why do all of the MacBook owners get to have all of the fun??

These guys have tons of leather and neoprene custom exact fit cases to put over their laptops, WITH the PORTS left bare for access. Imagine how PRISTINE you could keep your laptop!!!

I don't know how much you're willing to spend, but I would bet you could get a custom leather case made for under a thousand.
