No Native HDD: restoring image using Ghost 9.0

I have spent lots of time searching for answer and now am desperate for help.

Problem: I boot from Ghost 9.0 CD. Then I can see the external USB HDD where the image of C: drive is stored.

But the native HDD, where the C: partition is on, does not show up in Ghost. Therefore, I cannot restore the image.

System Configuration: I have X60 tablet, bought in May 2007, that comes with 120G native HDD, 5600rpm, Win XP pro, Core 2. I have not activated the security chip for finger print access.

The strange thing is that if I boot from a DOS CD produced from Win 98, and run FDISK. FDISK can show the correct partition of the native HDD.

I appreciate any help.

Try setting the hard disk to compatibility mode in the bios before booting off the ghost CD

Fantastic!!!!! A million thanks to lavoiep. It worked.

I went under BIOS-config-ATA and changed the mode from AHCI to compatibility and Ghost 9.0 was able to recognize the internal HDD.

FYI, the reason that I need to restore the image is because after installing Google Pack, my computer was trying repeatedly to access some Internet addresses through port 41543 by UDP. Those addresses look suspicious. I suspect Google screen saver's photo feeds was introducing problem.
