FWIW, I just finished my x64 ultimate install. Everything went smoothly, no blue screens, and somehow the lenovo download manager, or windows, not sure, got the intel display driver installed automatically and it works perfect.

The only thing so far that I have not been able to get to work, and this is getting nit-picky, is the the volume buttons, they still turn the volume up and down and mute it, but the onscreen display isn't there. My tablet shortcut menu seems somewhat shorter than it used to be too, but I'm not missing anything essential yet, that I've come across. So, good.

Well I take that back, my screen is not rotating when I switch to tablet mode, I tried just the basic rotation and also the activerotate. Neither work, if anyone has some idea of what to check let me know.

btw, ken, you were right, the 64b os definitely feels more stable, the x86 one used to lag and hang a lot.

edit: another addendum, the x60t client security manager worked perfectly on my x61t. There isn't currently one on the site for x64 on the x61, I assume they'll just edit that file's page to include the x61 because it seemed to work flawlessly for me, the security chip is enabled and all that jazz.

another bump: the 64bit display driver is now up on lenovo's site.

Ken. Please comment on how it is working out using turbo memory for readydrive and the 4GB SDHC card for readyboost. Did you run into any trouble? Any performance benefits?

ReadyBoost/ReadyDrive: I haven't noticed any speed improvements, although it's nearly impossible to measure. I've had no problems with the configuration, however. Definitely set up with the SD card using around 4GB of its space, and I've disabled ReadyBoost on the TurboMemory card. Of course, once 4GB TurboMemory cards are available, we can stop this nonsense... -- Ken

So let me see if I have this straight. You have disabled both readyboost and turbo memory? It seems like it would be best to have 1GB for ready boost rather than have nothing at all. Sure 4GB would be great.

You believe that a 4GB SD card alone is better than using Turbo memory alone. Or better than using them both together?

You can only have one device supporting ReadyBoost, so I'm using the 4GB SD card for that. In the Intel Turbo Memory Console, I've disabled ReadyBoost for the Turbo Memory card, but have enabled ReadyDrive on the Turbo Memory Card. I'm just trying it to see how it feels. Seems OK, although if the CF memory is much slower than the Turbo Memory card, it doesn't make much sense.

So I'm not using the SD card alone -- I'm using it for ReadyBoost, and the built-in Turbo Memory card for ReadyDrive.

If you disable ReadyBoost on the turbo memory card, will it use the full 1 GB for ReadyDrive? Or only the 512 MB that it normally does?

did your vista performance score go up significantly? (most people are getting 3.4, 3.5 with 3gigs of ram in Vista 32)

I have a 3.5 with 2gb of RAM on vista x64. That is with 1gb turbo mem too though. My memory score is 4.8 though, the graphics is the low score.

Running Vista x64, with 4GB of memory, I'm seeing a memory score of 5.0. My low score is, as well, the graphics score (3.4).

FWIW, I also replaced the hard drive with an Hitachi 7K200, and the hard drive score is 5.3, which seems high (that is, fast).

Woo hoo! Now I'm getting anxious for my X61 (and 7K200) to arrive!

Thanks for the info.... What did you get for your total score? over 3.5?

I have 4 gigs installed (~3 Available in Vista 32) I get a 3.5 total. Just wanted to see if you get an increase in performance by going to x64. THanks

I have the x61T with 64 Vista on it. I also have the 100gb 7200 hard drive and turbo memory. My scores are as follows :

Processor: 4.7
Memory: 4.8
Graphics: 3.5
Gaming Graphics: 3.5
Primary Hard Disk: 5.0

The "total score" is always the lowest score. It is not an average. So his overall score would be 3.4 (lowest score for graphics)

those are my exact same scores but my hdd only gets a 4.3 (5.4k 80gb).

as my other thread says, I finally fixed my issues with a fresh install and one other driver, the "system interface driver"

anyways, to the guy who was wondering if the option "resume the system upon removing the pen" works or not, it does. It just requires that you be in tablet mode when you put the thing to sleep.

I am getting one odd error with active rotate though, it will not activerotate itself to secondary landscape. It brings up an error message saying something about not being able to use that display setting with the current configuration. Who knows.

This is a good question. I'd like to know as well.

Well here is one thing I can say, DO NOT play with it if you want to get it back to using both. lol

I tried it last night to see if I could figure it out and the thing did not want to turn readyboost back on. Intel's software for it SUCKS. Instead of letting you check or uncheck boxes then save changes, it prompts you to restart right when you check a box, and if you don't, it unchecks the box. ugh, took me like 5 reboots to get it back to working.
