X61/X60 with all the new features available in europe?

Hi,
Just managed to get registered here after reading / lurking for almost a year (never had a question to ask!) but I'm trying to get myself a new X60 / X61 (tablet or not) with the new features that Lenovo have graced us with, namely:
Intel X3100 GPU
1400 x 1050 SXGA+ screen
Intel 4965AGN wireless
and of course Core 2 Duo
I also need Bluetooth but finding an X60 or X61 with these features doesnt seem possible. Tablet form would be OK if I could find it. I have found a model in Canada -
7762-95U and a press release on the US site
here but no luck finding anything outside of this.
The X61 Tablet in europe either has 1400x1050 but no bluetooth, or features the 4965 chipset but no 1400x1050. The UU395xx models come close but no cigar.
Anyone else had any success with this?

To narrow your search down, you do need an X61 tablet for those features -- 4965 and X3100 are only on the X61 (not X60), and 1400x1050 SXGA+ is only on the tablet.
You are probably suffering from limited model selection just like we are in Canada. No CTO models, and there are no X61s models with the Ultralight LCD, so I have personally just decided to go with an X61 rather than the X61s.

It certainly can be ordered from the US site to configure to order as you want it per the ordering options list. But 2 issues are whether the warranty will be supported from purchase in the US to the Netherlands. And the second one is to have it shipped to a US address and then forwarded on to you in a way that gives confidence to both. I think that some have done it this way, but unsure of the warranty topic.

Alas, CTO models do not carry the international warranty.

I also wanted to know this and asked Lenovo if warranty of models configured on the website is also valid in Germany.
I got the following answer:
Dear xxxxx,
Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of
ThinkPad and ThinkCentre PC products.
We are in receipt of your e-mail requesting information
on the International warranty of the ThinkPad.
Direct contact with Lenovo Inbound Sales Team suggested
that all ThinkPads come with International warranty. It would
mean that you would be able to get technical support in all
countries in which Lenovo has authorized service centers.
Additional information on the terms and conditions of
Warranty on Lenovo's products are available on the following
Web site:
http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/GCOR-3FBJK2.html
For any pre-sale information or purchase of a ThinkPad
within the United States please contact Lenovo Inbound
Sales Team at . The Hours of operation
are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.
Thank you for visiting our site and contacting Lenovo.

Here is the page where you can actually check:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... arranty.vm
Type in your model number (e.g. 7668 for 7668-CTO), and you might get:
This Machine Type is not eligible for International Warranty Support.
Some CTO models are eligible for warranty service in South America, but I have yet to see one eligible for European warranty service.

thanks for your replies. I've looked at the models with bluetooth (4 from about 190) and they are all 3945 wireless / 1024x768 / 950 GPU which kinda sucks. Is there any way to get bluetooth later?

I asked a local dealer and they gave me this machine:
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/uk/products.nsf/ ... enDocument
Model Name: 776295G
Part Number: UU395xx
They confirmed it was available with bluetooth and US international keybaord and that this was the EMEA version.

On the Dutch Website there are 2 options for the 7762-95G. UU395NI and UU395NH I presume one is with a Dutch OS and keyboard and the other with English OS and keyboard.
Any dealer in Holland should be able to order an UU395IX if that is the TP you definitely require, or at worst case, you could order it with an English OS and replace the keyboard. I do this alot for companies who want an English OS with German keyboards.

Yes I'm aware of the NI and NH for the Dutch market but there is no mention of these models anywhere on the net. I'm not even sure what the IX model is. I just found the page in English after looking for 7762-95G.
EDIT:

according to this thread the UU395xx doesnt have bluetooth and yet I was assured it does... I'll have to get back to the dealer with this one.

Thanks andyP. Its now been ordered and they have told me it will be delivered 27th July.
Why does it have to be so hard to find these items?

Its here and is exactly the spec it says it is. though the link to the UK lenovo page above is now dead. I wonder if this is because of the SVGA+ screens not being available anymore?
