I've currently got an Ultrabase X4 with DVD/CDRW and hard drive modules for my X40. Considering upgrading to an X61. I know I'll need to get an Ultrabase X6 for the X61, but will the old modules work in the new docking station? Thanks.

"Yes" for CD/DVD drive and 2nd HDD adapter; "No" for Ultrabay Battery.

Now I just have to find if there's anybody around the Boston area selling the X61, as it looks like ordering directly from Lenovo is a recipe for a long wait.

You might call up university computer stores. They might not be able to give you a student discount, but they can probably sell you a machine.
