Unknown device

Hi!

I just completed the install of winxp on my x60 1706 cto.
I have one more thing left to install in the device manager that is listed as unknonw device.
When I start my comp. windows says it found new hardware - PCI Device. But what can this little item be?

So far I have installed:
ethernet
wlan
btooth
modem
monitor
graphic
sound
matrix storage driver
chipset

any ideas?

Try:
-- Card Reader (X60, X60s ThinkPad SD storage and standard host controller bus driver)
-- ThinkVantage Active Protection System (Airbag-like protection for your hard drive: activation software)

You need ThinkPad Power Management driver.

Actually that look like the Atmel TPM chip on my X61. How about installing 79za05ww.exe?

That installed one Atmel TPM installed but leaves me with on with a yellow ! on it. And when I start my computor or reboot windows still finds a pci device.

How about the fingerprint scanner? Did you install the software for that?

My fingerprint scanner is working just fine, but I can't access the IBM/Lenovo FTP site, so I can't get the file to see if I can make this work

edit* I think this might not affect windows XP

What's left is:

1. Card Reader
2. Windows Update Modules

EDIT: You might need to uninstall the Sound and Modem drivers before you install the Windows Update Modules for the Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver. After that driver is installed, you can reinstall the Sound and Modem drivers.

did you try the power management driver? (not the utility) that'll be it i think, It's called "Thinkpad PM Device" when installed.

Finaly got it. I extracted all the drivers I had and tried until it got the right one. No more device found att bootup. Thanks for the help.

I have the same issue, but decided It might be the Active Secure Chip (I can't remember the actual name of that device) and therefore, not needing it, I haven't been bothered reinstalling it.

If you could just put what's the driver you were needing that might help some folks.

I encoutnered the same problem and after installed TPM 3.0.0.15 (79za05ww.exe), it has been solved.
