Hi guys,

I was wondering what the difference between the two batteries below is:
ThinkPad X60s Series 4 cell Slim Line Battery
ThinkPad X60s Series 4 cell Enhanced Capacity Battery

Given that the enhanced capacity battery is $40 cheaper when buying it new with an X-series, I'm wondering what the difference between the two is?

The slim one stay flush with the bottom of X60s but it lasts less than 3 hours. It uses rarer rectangular cells which probably reflects in higher cost.

The enhanced one sticks out somewhat at the bottom but can last 3-4 hours. It uses the common cylindrical cells.

The enhanced is 2600 mAh, the slimline is 2000 mAh, so you'll get about 30% more battery life with the slimline.

However, the slimline is slimmer so it sits flush with the bottom of the X60s and the back of the system is not raised. It's also 0.13 lbs (60g) lighter.

So the enhanced lifts your laptop up in the back the same height that the 8-cell does - or is it less?

Yes, correct, it will be the same height as 8cell's
I have slimline one and 8-cell.
If I want to go light, put the slimline on, if I on the go, put the 8cell's on.
but this time I ordered a enhanced battery with my X61s, just because it's cheaper

4 cell enhanced is the same height as 8 cell. Despite the annoying thickness increase, I personally would go for the 4 cell enhanced over slim for longer battery life.

I actually prefer the slight change in the typing angle with the enhanced or 8-cell battery.

The slimline lasts me about 2h30m with my X61s wireless on and screen at medium brightness.
