Hibernation option gone?! Unable to hibernate?!
I have a very strange problem, which occured i don't know why/when.
Fn + F12 doesn't work anymore, as well as under windows shut down menu - there is no Hibernate option available anymore.
What can I do to fix that? If i go to power manager options and check "Enable hibernation" it simply doesn't work. When i reopen that same settings window, check isn't there anymore...
please help

Yes, i did try that. Without success though
EDIT: Oh no!! Sleep mode gone missing too ?! I can't put my computer to sleep mode neither hibernate?!
EDIT 2: I don't have a clue how this happened as i haven't been installing anything except video driver. I have tried system restore point - but didn't help. I simply don't have hibernate/sleep mode available no more. Sleep mode is a must for me, so i'd really appreciate your help.

Although I was sure it could not have been the new video driver... It was! Both hibernation and sleep mode were gone after I've applied the new driver via thinkvantage update.
I removed the driver, reinstalled the original one found in c:/drivers and everything is back to normal. I seriously don't know why it happened, I am just happy it's back to normal again

You need to open CMD as an administrator, otherwise it will not work. If u don't have the sleep option as well it might be that you had hybrid sleep (combination of sleep and memory dump) turned on. Since you deleted the hibernation file hybrid sleep will not work too.jamess wrote:Yes, i did try that. Without success though
