problem installing windows xp!!!

i have been using an external sony usb dvd drive to boot the windows xp install cd, but when i hit enter to install a fresh copy it bails and posts an error message stating that no HD could be found

any help would be great

You nned to change SATA to Compatibility mode in BIOS.
