SD card reader not responding

All of a sudden, I wanted to download few old photos from an even older SD card.
I've put it in X60s SD card reader slot.... nothing! I can't access it, I don't even see the SD listed under My Computer.

When i go to system devices it says "this device is enabled,. blabla, and has no problems"

Obviously, it does. How can i fix this? The drivers seem ok. And when I insert the SD card the light goes on for a second and then turns off for good. If i take it [SD card] out and insert again, the light does the same - goes on and off.

Thanks for suggestions.

My X60s does this sometimes too. I just have to fiddle with how I insert the card and then it just works. I'm not sure what the problem is - it might be the card having a poor fit or something.

Fiddling with the SD card doesn't help, unfortunately. It simply lights up the small light near the SD slot, that's it... I really don't know what could the cause be?!

Sometimes my light comes on as well, but the card doesn't get recognised. I have to pull it out, and push it in again, with a finger underneath it to try to prop the card up when inserting it in.

Don't ask me why though; it works only when I insert that way.
