Help: Auto Rotate and Vista x64 on x61t

#1 Post by mgags7 » Fri Jul 20, 2007 9:26 am

Hey guys, I posted this in the x64 thread but got little response.

I've got everything working with my x64 ultimate install except the following two things:
1)the OSD (on screen display) for the volume buttons and brightness and all will not work, I install but it still does not show up. though the buttons do what they're supposed to.
2)auto rotate will not work, I tried uninstalling and re-installing the tablet button driver and the shortcut menu a few times and doing things in weird order to see if that was the problem, and it wasn't.

I talked to one guy who said the he had the same problems, reformatted and reinstalled vista, then did things in another order and it worked. I already reinstalled once and still have the problem.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I've talked to a guy about it and he said the install order for the drivers was key, he did it twice and got it right the last time, but forgot the order. [censored]

Anyways, it seems to work 100% fine after you get it working period. No "barely working" problems as far as I have been told.

up for more opinions. please help.

The Auto Rotate may be an easy fix.

Push the "Tablet Shortcut Menu" button along the edge of the screen.

When the menu appears look in the lower left hand corner for "Settings". Tap/click on "Settings".

About halfway down the settings box, you will see the settings for Auto Rotate (ActiveRotate).

Make sure that "Enable ActiveRotate" is checked. You will need to do the calibration.

It should then work (it did for me).

well I re-formatted again last night and finally got it working right

The "system interface driver" was a new addition to the downloads page and that may have been the problem. Who knows.

Thanks for the help though

Mine is weird. It works right after I reboot, and sometimes after sleep, but not usually. if I press the rotate button it stops until the next boot. If I eject from the Ultrabase it Stops as well.in fact, most of the time it doesn't work.
