error message

#1 Post by iha » Sun Jul 22, 2007 2:37 am

when I start up my brand new x60 tablet I get this error message:
There was a problem connecting to a critical service. It is possible that anti-virus or firewall software is blocking the connection. Also, check to make sure that the TPM device driver is installed and enabled.
anyone know what this is about and how to fix it?

Check your event log -- there should be more detail there, including the name of the application/service that had the problem.

under system it has an error that says:
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from TabletSVC service.

Just an off-chance here ... are you running a US English version of Windows? Windows XP or Vista?
