CSS 6 - Security Chip
Posted: Tue Jul 31, 2007 6:17 pm
Hey,
1st post : A happy welcome from my side.
I got my TP a little while ago and thought that updates suggested by Lenovo were always a good idea. As it happened, I installed CSS 8 over my version 6 without me noticing, that 8 doesnt support Private Disk. Sine I like PD and having a good amount of data on those files I had to go back to version 6 ...
but now I have trouble with the Security Chip.
When the CSS Window comes up I enter all the data and PWs (Step 1 to 5) but when it then tries to generate a system key (step 'post' 6) it fails.
Additionally ... when I try to change the status security chip in CSS it says: "Error loading SM-Bus-Driver" ... or something similar depeding on the literal translation. I guess I need to reinstall it but I dont know where to find it. Cudnt find it on the Lenovo website nor on the Atmel website - which doesnt mean they arent somewhere there.
I have been trying front and back on fixing this, since Im longing for full functionality ...
Cheers,
FJ
